Welcome to Shoot & Hook QC — a locally-focused forum for hunters, anglers, shooters, and outdoorsmen in the Quad Cities and surrounding area. This is your space to connect, share, learn, and trade — free from censorship and confusing algorithms.

General Rules
Be respectful. Disagree without being disagreeable. No harassment, hate speech, or personal attacks.

Stay on topic. Post in the right category and keep discussions relevant to the outdoors, firearms, hunting, fishing, etc.

No spam or self-promotion outside of approved vendor or classifieds sections.

Follow all applicable laws. Especially when it comes to firearms, ammo, and hunting regulations.

Marketplace use is a privilege. Treat others fairly, honor your deals, and help keep this a trusted space.

Safety Tips (Especially for Buy/Sell/Trade)
Always meet in a public, well-lit place. Police station parking lots or shooting ranges are great options.

Bring a friend when meeting someone new.

Cash only. Avoid accepting digital payments from unknown users.

Be cautious of too-good-to-be-true deals. Scammers often use urgency and low prices to bait buyers.

Ask to see ID or FOID when dealing with firearms in Illinois, and complete transfers through a licensed FFL when required.

Never ship a firearm without going through proper legal channels.

️ Spotting Scammers
Brand-new users asking you to "text instead" or refusing to meet in person? Be cautious.

Refusing to show additional photos or answer reasonable questions? That’s a red flag.

Deals involving prepayment, shipping, or urgency? Think twice.

If you ever feel uncomfortable or spot suspicious behavior, report the user immediately. We’ll investigate and remove bad actors to keep the community safe and clean.
